Armand did not mean for this to happen, obviously. Daniel was supposed to be nothing more than a landfill, a place for him to store all the ugly parts of himself so he could return to Louis pure and empty. He was supposed to be a curiosity and a diversion and a pastime. He was supposed to be a hunt. Armand hadn’t been prepared for this—for Daniel to become a chemical reaction in his body. Because that is what the boy is, now. He is a process, a transformation. Something volatile, if not outright violent.

He’s going to do this, isn’t he? Daniel hasn’t fucked around in years, but it’s also been a long fucking time since Daniel’s had anyone proposition him, let alone a guy who looks like that. Or at least that’s what Daniel thinks the kid is doing. Maybe he’s not. Maybe Daniel is delusional—or drunk—and he’s totally gotten the wrong end of the stick. He throws back the last of his beer and puts the glass down.
“Look, kid—and feel free to slap me across the face if I’m completely barking up the wrong tree here—but it kinda feels like you’re coming on to me,” he says, bluntly.
May as well rip the band-aid off. Worst-case scenario, he gets a slap in the face. Best case scenario, he makes it with… a student… who’s got to be more than half his age. Fuck.

Summary
Flash, goes the camera in Daniel’s mind. The low lights in the bar catch on dark lenses of his glasses, reflecting back at him his own flushed face. He can’t see Armand’s eyes. Maybe that’s the point, hiding them away from the unsuspecting humans who all think he’s one of them.
A drink at the bar, a dance too close, the end of a chase, and the beginning of something far greater than either Daniel or Armand had prepared for.
