“I planted stars in your pupils and wove the Milky Way into your hair.” It murmurs, quiet and grieving. “I gave you comets for wings and planets as stepping stones.”
“You did.” She agrees.
“The Universe was your cloak. Time was your plaything. You could have shaped the world into anything you wanted.”
“After how many prices paid?” Kiana closes her eyes, remembering the pain of Honkai peeling apart her body, an eye turned amber, burning herself in cleansing flames until her irises were finally once again blue.
“Did it matter?”It is genuine in its inquiry. But Kiana still feels the dying embers of hatred that she tried to let go.
“Yes,” she snaps forcefully.
OR: A conversation between the Honkai and Kiana, estranged parent and child.
