The world is heating up and so are Caitlyn’s feelings for the world’s most renowned climber. Caitlyn thinks about it (she shouldn’t) but as she watches footage from Jinx’s previous documentaries, she sends Mel an email requesting more information on the famous rock climber: Violet R Cane.

[Video fades into view: Vi is standing wearing gear prepared for the arctic climate. She stares straight into the lens.]
Jinx: (Off camera) What made you accept this position?
Vi: (Begins swinging her arms) Well, they needed a climber—so, (she points to herself with her thumbs) That’s me.
Jinx glances up from the screen. She eyes her sister before smirking, “Tell me the truth, why’d you accept this position?”
Vi relaxes, thinking Jinx stopped filming, “Caitlyn’s super hot.”

Vi’s words were slow and low in her throat like they were weighed down by exhaustion. She filled the doorway to the kitchen, just as tall as Caitlyn remembered, but something had changed. Vi had always been powerfully built, her body threaded with muscles that wrapped tightly around each limb; now she was broad, burly, her muscles big and strong and soft all at once. She was the same Vi with the same tattoos and the same short hair pushed back from her forehead, but the woman in front of Caitlyn had this new, large presence that seemed to pull everything in the room towards her like the sun.
Then she yawned and sniffed the air. “You making coffee?”

What she doesn't expect is a rapidly growing crush on coworker, Vi, to take root, along with the complexities of making friends while navigating her social status in the company. What ensues is charged bickering and a hotel room reservation mix-up, which certainly can't lead to anything more. Certainly.

She opened her pack and stood up from her chair, leaning far across the gap between their two porches, and Vi leaned over to meet her.
Vi’s breath hitched in her lungs when she saw the woman’s face; she had gorgeous features – eyes of a vibrant blue, narrow, pouty chin, long hair that framed her face perfectly. Pretty.
“Thank you,” Vi said, taking a cigarette. She lit it, watching as the woman sat back down in the shadows, casting glances in her direction over the deep orange embers that burned with the first drag.
