“Then why didn’t you?” he asks. His voice cracks, and he realises it’s because he isn’t yelling or laughing any more. He’s begging. Begging as he does with Kaz, just tell me. “Why didn’t you?”
It takes a long while for Wylan to answer. Jesper watches him the whole time; his fingers link and unlink, he licks and bites his lips, his chest stutters as it rises. The silence stretches out, pushing seconds into minutes into hours, and Jesper can just watch and wait and hope without knowing what he’s hoping for.

Summary
Light is scarce in this part of Ketterdam, away from streetlights and the stars choked by the thick fog, and so the field is lit by the weak glow of their bonelights. The place spreads out around them, the soil its rocky fingers to the farthest corners of Jesper’s vision. When he shines his light in front of him, all he’s met with is endless grey, the yawning mouth of the creatures from his childhood nightmares. And Wylan is here somewhere, trapped beneath the dead ground.

Summary
In a clash of limbs, the two of them move up the bed, bodies tangled in sheets. While pressing kisses to Wylan’s neck, Jesper makes quick work of his trousers. On some level, he feels like he should be doing something, but all he can do is let his head fall back, eyes closed, and think about the pressure of Jesper’s lips on his skin, and the minute vibrations against Wylan’s nerves.
“Why me?” Jesper asks. Wylan stiffens, just slightly, pulled back down to earth. They sit back just enough to look Jesper in the eye, to see the guilt that twitches in their face. Quickly, Jesper kisses him again, as if chasing the question away, but it doesn’t work.
wylan finds his father's letters. if he only has hours to live then he has one option; spend these hours getting freaky
