Summary
Loki is given room and board, which is much more than he can ask for from people who would have his head on a stick. He understands it’s Romanoff’s doing, her perceived debt to him extending to the rest of them.
“He brought me back to life, Tony. It’s the least we can do.”
Funny how Loki has made a decision without ulterior motive for the first time in his life and yet no one would believe he did it just because he could. No one asks, anyway. Not even Thor.

Summary
Loki can speak.
His voice echoes clear as day over the intercoms. Short quips, commands and battle updates and Tony swears there is a tone even in the shortest of Loki’s statements.
„To your left, Stark, do use your eyes.“
But then they come home and he just… goes silent.

"Help," Loki says, his voice completely flat, "I've fallen and I can't get up."
"Did you just," Stark begins, staring over at him with some sort of horror. He's standing in the kitchen, cradling what appears to be a gallon of coffee close to his chest as if to protect it from Loki's villainy. "No! No, no, no! You aren't allowed to make jokes that I would make! You're evil! Be silent and brooding!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, is my existence bothering you?"
"Yes," Stark says, "there are actually few things right now that bother me as much as you do."
OR: in between the "puny god" scene and his sentencing on Asgard, Loki gets caught in a time loop. He'd his refund now, please.
(Odin is a shitty parent, the Avengers are confused, Loki is just trying not to go even more insane than he already is, and the author is starting to wonder why she has so much dialogue from these movies memorized.)

Summary
Loki’s fingers, pale, thin things with the nails chewed off, dig into the flesh of his own palm. It’s hard to reconcile the Loki who killed eighty people in one day with the Loki that’s now sitting next to them, who’s trying to reduce the points of impact by holding himself tightly. It makes Tony wonder if maybe they were wrong about a few things.
