| When he hears the bathroom door click shut, Remus realizes that this is the first time Remus and Sirius have been alone in three centuries. Or something like that.
| And if Remus leaves a tiny kiss on Sirius’s shoulder, it’s no one’s business but his own.
| Two more steps, “Forget it, I’m leaving.”
Remus can’t help it – he laughs. He laughs bitterly, his eyes burning. His laugh echoes in his garden and mocks him. “You always do.”
| His tone is low when Remus says, “You’re as beautiful as the day I lost you.”
| “I have to love them, to remember them… for longer than I’ve known them. And I don’t know how to live with it. With all the pain and the guilt. It’s eating me alive.”
