Summary
Their behavior is becoming difficult to ignore. They sped right past unsubtle and hard to miss. They are holding hands in front of the lockers like middle schoolers. She has seen a variation of this before. Their cute little double high five after a good save, that evolved into Mel grasping Langdon's hands in excitement, and now, apparently, holding hands, gazing longingly into each other's eyes. Gross.

Summary
Eventually, one woman, all the way at the end of the bar, did catch his eye. Long blond hair falling loose over her shoulders, a single point of stillness in the otherwise frantic scene. He put his drink down, wiping his palms on his jeans, grabbing his drink again. His palms were immediately wet again, the condescension on the glass. Better than sweat, at least. He made his way over. He leaned against the bar near her, gathering his courage to speak. He hated feeling nervous.
“Uh,” He started. Not his best work, “Hey.” He said. This wasn’t going to go well. She turned around, trying to discern if he was talking to her or not, and his heart nearly jumped out of his chest, it was trying to climb up his throat and out of his mouth, which made speaking hard.
“Dr. Langdon ?” Mel said, smiling widely.
“Uh,” He said, sweating.

Summary
“You wanna sext me at work?” He leans back, raising his eyebrows. “That’s part of your plan to help me deal with keeping my hands to myself there?”
“I-I guess you’re right. I just thought it’s one of the only times we’re not— well, we’re not like this. Maybe that isn’t— I mean, if it’s a problem we can just—”
“It’s not a problem,” he cuts her off with his mouth.
Or: Practicing dirty talk via text messages at work might not help keep a secret relationship all that secret.

Summary
“Cute, but uh,” Frank chuckled at her act of sudden modesty, slightly mocked her even, “married—” he waved his left hand in the air “—you're obviously going through a lot right now, and plus, it wouldn’t be fair.”
Mel itched to say it was unfair now, with his dumb, tousled hair she wanted to tug, that cruel way he occupied her thoughts, and the fact that she couldn't kiss him without seeing his father’s face. None of it was fair to her. She never had the urge to balance the scales before—her life thus far had been tragedies and exits; she let them all go—until now.
So Mel said the thing she wasn't supposed to say.
“Not too sure if I like my boyfriend how I’m supposed to, or how I like you.”
Mel accidentally falls for her boyfriend's father.
