Summary
“Don’t think I’ve forgotten about you, Captain,” Ophelia says against her skin, voice hushed and steady. [...] Ophelia’s forehead rests on the crook of Miria’s neck, and she inhales deeply through her nose. Long and slow, as if savoring Miria’s fear. “Of course an awakened being would hate the organization.”
(AU in which Miria reconnects with Ophelia by meeting her in Pieta. This is the aftermath.)

Summary
Dae-ho doesn’t like Player 124—hasn’t since he first laid eyes on him. The man speaking to him so casually is someone truly evil. A man who stalked the vulnerable and the weak, and without desperation—with nothing but a twisted sense of control and pleasure—dominated those who couldn’t fight back. A monster who killed not because he had to, but because he could.
“What’s your name?” 124 asks.
“Dae-ho,” he replies. “Kang Dae-ho.”
The man hums in acknowledgement. “Dae-ho,” he says, testing the name like it’s foreign on his tongue. He says it again. “Dae-ho. Dae-ho.” He flashes a toothy smile. “My name’s Nam-gyu.”
(Dae-ho and Nam-gyu, along with the other survivors, are rescued by Jun-ho's team. The two run into each other a few months later and become roommates.)

Natsuo’s absence hung heavy, the weight of it a constant presence in her head. Haruka imagined this must be what it felt like to be haunted by a ghost.

Summary
L's memories of their interactions immediately sour. Whatever imagined warmth he could read there slips through his fingers as he finally puts together the pleasant voice and unhinged smirk, calm behaviour and malicious gaze.
Suspecting Light is Kira is one thing. Knowing Light is Kira is entirely another. Seeing it firsthand is the worst one so far.
Light watches him with egotistic satisfaction, lips closed, corners up. Observes L's well-managed anxiety. Well-hidden fear. L's never seen Light show so much joy.
-
In a way, Light wins. L hates it and dreads it. It pains him. But he doesn't disagree.Series

Summary
Matsuda is just trying to find the meaning in each day. Which feels stupid, because as the investigation drags on as it always has, he’s starting to realize there was never much there to begin with. The world is slowly breaking apart. This day will pass just like the next one.
It's simple. Wake up in his cold apartment, ride the train to work, sip lukewarm coffee, and sit in the back like an audience member, gazing from the crowd as the stars of the performance run the show. All he can do is watch.
And then there's Light, shining brightly, sitting across from him over a drink. So kind and charitable— he fills Matsuda’s wavering, meaningless days with sweet words.
He remembers Ide’s warning. …But why should he have to listen to Ide?

Summary
After the warehouse — it will always be "the warehouse" to him, a vague noun as a substitute for years of betrayal — Matsuda wakes up the next morning faced with a second chance. One day to fix everything, one day to build the January 28 he wants. And that day will repeat for as long as it takes to get things right.
He knows that he can't save everyone. But it would be nice if he could just save someone.
OR
Matsuda gets stuck in a time loop and the situation quickly gets worse.

Summary
There’s something insidious just beneath the surface.
Matsuda always manages to somehow stay afloat, to keep his head bobbing above water, never submerged by the pitfalls of the investigation for long despite it all. Sometimes this perplexes Light, other times it makes him want to sink the man deeper. See if he can drown him. Drag him somewhere where the light doesn’t reach.
It’s a game the two of them play— one Matsuda isn’t aware he’s participating in.
