Summary
Lister really didn’t mean to say it. He can’t even remember what Rimmer said, now—something senseless and absurd, and then he looked at Lister with that fluffy little pompadour of his and wiggled his shoulders a bit, the corners of his lips upturned in a self-satisfied smirk. Lister is baffled and frustrated and charmed all at once, and like a pot of milk boiling over on the stove, it spills right out of his mouth before he can stop it.
With an exasperated laugh hiccuping out of him he says, “Ah smeg, I love you.”
--
Or, four times Lister tells Rimmer that he loves him by accident, and one time he does it on purpose.
