"You’re worried about something."
A statement, not a question, because of course Mydei knows. Could read him like an open book. To Mydei, Phainon is bad at hiding his expression, though Phainon is sure it’s not the case for most people but Mydei and maybe Aglaea and the Tribios.
“It’s nothing important,” Phainon says, because it’s true, technically. Articles and comments written by people who don’t know them—him—shouldn’t matter.
Phainon spirals, and Mydei is there to catch him.

Summary
If the Kremnoans truly decided to settle somewhere else, within the high clouds like the Skyfolk, an island in the distant sea, the mountain of legend that the city had first risen from, then Mydei wouldn’t object. Even if it took him far from Okhema’s high walls where so many of his friends still resided.
There was no reason for Mydei to stay. Not if his responsibilities led him elsewhere. Out of the many things that had once restrained him—a cursed prophecy, a burden of responsibility, a bloodstained crown, and a radiant Coreflame that bestowed upon him the name of Strife—Phainon refused to be another.
Life goes on within the Eternal Pages, including Castrum Kremnos’ mess of internal politics. Where the fortress will settle, now that disaster has been averted and peace restored, is yet undecided but up for debate among Kremnos’ citizens.
To Phainon the mere possibility of the final verdict is daunting enough.

Summary
Phainon sighs and wearily rubs a hand over his forehead.
“I’ve been having dreams,” he mumbles. “Vivid ones. I always wake up in a panic, thinking I’m trapped in those endless cycles all over again. They won’t stop no matter what I do.”
Phainon has nightmares after the end of the Eternal Recurrences and the defeat of Irontomb. Tired of watching from afar, Anaxa finds a way to comfort him.

He could no longer understand the words. No longer comprehend their presence.
Only the emotion. Only the feeling. Only the heaviness in his chest.
Love.
Enough to fuel the hate he held onto for eternity.
Enough to survive millions of cycles forevermore.
Enough to follow him even here, at the very edge as he lost himself surrounded by the people he swore to fulfill the wishes of, to the ultimate end.
His final coherent thought came softly.
Not fear. Not regret.
Only love.
The last threads of his soul tore apart... and the Deliverer lost awareness of the world.

or; An introspective oneshot where Phainon, in all his broken pieces in the aftermath of Irontomb's defeat and Amphoreus' creation, learns to decide and truly live for himself. A long, arduous journey home, where his beloved and family are waiting for him to come back.
