No, if Michael was a rose bush, beautiful but thorny, Alexis was a bed of red clover, passive and inviting. Overlooked by most, forgotten in favor of brighter flowers with perfume scents that looked cute in a decorative vase on the counter; a cool patch of greenery off the beaten path where he could rest his head for a while. He could comb through the patch, picking at the clover leaves in search of a good luck charm, or anything of value really, until all that was left was the bare ground and wilted flowers.
He was never good at keeping plants, they always died in his care.
Michael Kaiser has spent the last twenty years as a vampire, and he's spent them alone. When a mage with fire in his veins falls into his path, Michael falls prey to his own desire to have something for himself.
