Dyna.Or; It's 1986 and Eijirou finds refuge in New York City's underground ballroom scene. He instantly falls for Dyna Might, a fierce drag queen, and learns that when heaven is denied, you make it with your own two hands.

i literally just finished reading giovanni’s room YESTERDAY, and ~2 weeks ago finished a project on Paris is burning (coupled with bell hook’s essay) - obviously since it’s pride it’s not really too much of a coincidence but wow, reading and FEELING this is something i can’t even describe. the characters’ tenacity, their life and richness is something you won’t find just anywhere. this setting means so much, just to history and its people and it being cared for in this way is so good. so good, and you’re telling me there’s 7 more chapters of this, i will gladly lay down my life for this fic and author. literally such a gift.

i read this a while ago at 4am bouts it was the best experience. rereading in this dead heat summer and it still hits. queer horror loml. also videostore & horror flick nerd kirishima wasn’t something i knew i needed??? and bakugo working at a theater too oh i love. loved all the movie references too. especially loved the possessiveness and obsession they have for each other, oh my god. also has the perfect atmosphere ever. i just love everything about this okay

Summary
He’s about to open his door to go to the shared bathroom on this floor when he notices the scrap of paper that’s been pushed under his door. It’s a salmon-colored flashcard, the type that’s sold in 500-packs with multiple colors. Bakugou stoops to retrieve it, frowning at the message he finds written on it.
Hey neighbor, welcome to the house! I heard you knocking things around, yesterday, and I think you maybe punched a wall? Anyway, the landlady gets pissy if you put holes in the wall, but I have a punching bag! You can come over and use it, or I can move it into the hall, if you want!
There’s only one other bedroom on the fourth floor. Now, Bakugou crosses the hall to the bedroom on the right side, slamming the post-it note against the door.
Fuck off and die, it reads.
Bakugou Katsuki is not going to jeopardize his future a second time, and that means staying away from anyone who gets too close. Kirishima Eijirou has never learned how not to be close to someone. Of course, they end up as next-door neighbors.

people hate this season but i love love love band A, canonical band in the series and somebody wrote it so full of love and life it makes me so emo. momo creates a gun. what more could you ask for.
the band and music itself were so fucking cool the song/album titles were so creative and their origin stories were so good. child soldier summer tour rolls off the tongue so well.
has everything i like: bkg modeling and band and smau elements and bksquad roomates, mmj ♥️ and the bkg/deku “symbol of victory” + “your purpose was deku” oh i love them. and also funny as fuck.

um. holy shit?
i was scrolling through ao3 (as one does), i see the title and immediately go, “oh my god, like from tigers jaw?” (as if i hadn’t had that song on repeat not even a couple months ago.)
the first section hits me like a bullet train, and then i keep getting gutted the more i keep reading.
i have never ever seen a fic explore kirishima’s insecurities in this angle… like ever, it’s so invigorating and it really got me thinking about his development and family life (which has been so well established by fanon already, deviations like this are a breath of fresh air).
i just feel such big pangs of longing for bkg, kr, mina too… this is a really special piece of work. i don’t think i will forget this one. -

His notes are covered in methodically placed highlighter lines, pastel yellow and purple marking orderly, step-by-step instructions. Like everything he does, it’s orderly, and efficient, and pleasing to the eyes. Katsuki is pleasing to the eyes. He’s all dangerous hands and red glares, pale, scarred skin and unnatural amounts of motivation. He’s powerful in everything he does because he does it all with such purpose. He studies like he’s preparing for war; cooks breakfast like he’s performing brain surgery.
And Eijiro’s in love.

all parts hilarious and tender. i love how much they love each other. every time they extended an intimate exchange i felt my heart melt in real time. kirishima's pining killed me, it really did. and bakugo regarding kr so reverently... that killed me tenfold. i also had some revelations in my own life because of this fic (but don't tell anyone i said that.) i love bakusquad in this too, they feel like real people instead of characters used to push the main romance/plot forward. bakugo's growth from the manga really shines through in this fic. oh oh oh and i love baku + mido's friendship in this one too!! i really do love their platonic dynamic and this one wrote them so good. will definitely give this rereads when i'm feeling bitter <3

Perched on the dunk tank’s rickety metal seat like it was a throne made for him and him alone. His shirt was already almost soaked through, a faded red Property of Belleville High Wrestling Team tank that clung to his chest in a way Katsuki absolutely did not notice. And his hair was plastered to his cheeks, bright and dripping and so obnoxiously red it felt like a warning flare. Everything about him screamed DANGER DO NOT TOUCH DO NOT THINK DO NOT FEEL.
So, of course, Katsuki proceeded to do all three.
Or; The summer Katsuki Bakugou returned to the Strawberry Festival to help his dad sell shortcake and tried really hard not to look two booths down at the dunk tank boy with red hair and the loudest laugh he ever heard.

I absolutely love when an author’s life bleeds into their stories, so raw and personal and real. I’ve moved away from nostalgia these past couple of weeks as im in a pretty big transitional stage of my life right now, forced to keep looking forward, but sometimes during pink evenings and in quiet hums of the heater im reminded of everything good about longing and sentimentality. bkg’s internalization is so close, especially for 14 year olds who are as headstrong as he is. so beautiful, i love peering through this window into a culture im not a part of, but still having universal coming-of-age themes intertwined. this feels like a summer that should last forever.

beautifully written, i don't quite know how to express how charming this collection is. i especially love how grounded and real these stories are, especially in characters actually feeling like they're in japan, all these cultural aspects that pay homage to its source material. this series makes you look at relationships (all forms) in a new light. very introspective, especially in 2 am. quite honestly, i don't think a series has captivated me more.

When Kirishima Eijirou's band hits the big time, he's not prepared for his newfound fame. He's even less prepared to meet the actor he's been crushing on for years, or to start dating him as a publicity stunt. The closer Kirishima gets to Bakugou Katsuki, the more he realizes he's in over his head. But it's hard to stop, once his heart is in it.

band au AND actor au... i'm dead. oh AND fake dating, i'm double dead. this world is so believable, and so so clever. i dont want to leave it. im such a huge sucker for references and small nods, from the seiyuus to the side characters. their roles are so perfectly paralleled from the canon material (even though i havent touched bnha since 2019) i feel compelled to catch up with it now. and maybe take off the spiderman poster thats covering my old bnha poster in my room (in my defense my room's kinda small!!!)
their characterizations are so good. it warms my heart how being queer is so intertwined with this story, and doesn't treat it as a trope... it's a little hard to form coherent explanations right now, but i hope it's understandable. i admire how proud they are of themselves, and their growth to get to that point. their characters are so realistic, and their emotions are so raw i did feel like i was watching their movies, or listening to their albums irl. i would LOVE to have the two riot cds. and the hoodies. omg.
i don't usually read long fics, but i am addicted to this one. i might want to seek out for more. i hope others will reach me similar. (okay, this might be a bad idea, i have a lot of work in real life i put off to read this lolol)
