Summary
Buck should be furious. All their planning, all the hard work and buried emotions and lying to get where they are. Buck should be furious.
He's sitting on a sound stage, lights beating down on him, sweat beading on his forehead, heart pounding in his chest as Eddie's voice echoes in his head over and over and over while the crowd is deathly silent, and god damn it, Buck should be furious.
“Roger,” Ryan Seacrest says, pausing for dramatic effect as his eyes flicker between the duo in front of him, “For twenty five thousand dollars,” another pause that feels like it stretches into eternity, long enough for Buck to tear his gaze away from the couple to the man sitting to his left, to try and catch his eye and ultimately get nowhere. “When did Kristy realize she was in love?”
It was love at first sight.
That’d been Buck’s answer. They’d rehearsed it.
But Eddie—

Summary
Buck and Eddie kiss for the first time in the middle of a park in El Paso, in the heights of beautiful, Texas spring. They do it surrounded by flowers, a warm breeze, and a million unspoken words.
Fifteen minutes after they kiss, after Eddie's legs go shaky with anxiety enough that Buck lowers them both to the ground, staining their pants green and blue with the grass and flowers, Eddie starts speaking.
“I picked a bluebonnet once, when I was a kid.”

Summary
“Asked me if I was the Chinese food delivery guy on my first day.” Chim contributed in a whisper, like he was afraid Buck might wake up and hear. Maybe he felt disloyal admitting it now. It was no secret to anyone paying attention how much Chim loved Buck, even if he often pretended to be exasperated with him.
Hen nodded solemnly. “One of the many people who wouldn’t even acknowledge me when I started.”
It was news to Eddie, and apparently Ravi too, but not Cap, who resolutely stared down at the table in front of him, shaking his head.
“Oh, so he fucking sucks.” Ravi contributed casually, never one to pull punches with his thoughts.
No one responded, but the agreement was in the air.

Summary
The cat's description reads:
"Meet Perdita, not for the faint of heart. LIKES: staring into your soul all day, the song Cat’s in the Cradle, the movie Pet Sematary (Church is her hero), jump scares (her specialty), lurking in dark corners, being queen of ALL territories, outranking her subjects, fooling shelter staff into thinking she’s sick (vet agrees… she’s just a diva) DISLIKES: the color yellow, rainbows, kittens (yuck they are so chipper), dogs, vacuums, Christmas, and last but NOT least... dogs.”
“I… can also appreciate Pet Sematary?” Buck contributes valiantly. He’s scared of Perdita. Perdita knows things. She’s seen things. She’s also, through a phone screen, managed to remind Buck of every single person in this room excluding himself with looks and posture alone. He supposes that’s talent. “Geez, she looks like sunshine incarnate, Eddie. You really know how to pick 'em. Well done, five stars.”
or: Buck adopts a cat. She might be the thing he never knew he always needed.

Summary
Eddie’s eyes snap open, his vision blurry and disoriented as he registers the unmistakable form of a toddler sitting on his sternum. His cheeks are round, blonde curls a mess and a pacifier is dangling half out of his mouth.
The kid is also patting his face like a bongo drum.
“Hi,” the child says, grinning wildly, just before the pacifier drops directly onto Eddie’s cheek.
He sits up with a jolt, instinct taking over and the kid topples sideways with a giggle, landing in the space beside him on the bed.
“What the fuck?” Eddie mutters, fully awake and adrenaline rising as he looks up and sees Buck… who is lying casually on the other side of the bed cradling another child.
“Don’t swear,” Buck says absently, like he’s not currently holding an unknown child.
“Don’t… did you just say don’t swear? Who the hell—” Eddie stammers, his eyes darting between the two kids and Buck.
“It’s us,” Buck says, like that explains anything, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Or; Eddie makes a wish by accident and it comes true. So he and Buck spends the day with their younger selves aging up three years every time they falls asleep.
Orr; Take two, times two… in threes?
