After protecting his brother Milo during a house fire when they were younger, Miles is left with burns covering the majority of his body and his voice is left sounding like he smokes ten packs of cigarettes every day after the smoke from the fire damages his vocal cords.
Milo adores his older twin and gets very protective over him after the accident.
Years later both boys are eighteen and Milo has become a tattoo artist. After a few months of Milo working at the studio, he forgets his phone at their shared apartment. Miles discovers the forgotten phone and goes to the studio to drop off the phone and runs into Milo's co-workers.
Long story short, Hobie nearly trips, Gwen spits out her drink, and Pav is just a ray of sunshine.

The telltale scraping noise does something to Spider; he flinches hard, and Neytiri is already so on the edge that the movement is enough to send her over it. Thomas remembered the first time he noticed a change in the Minho’s physique. It had been a quiet morning, the three of them lounging in the sun outside of their small house. Newt had cooked them breakfast, a hearty meal of eggs, bacon, fruit, and fresh bread. Minho had eaten in slight excess, as he often did, but Thomas noticed how his boyfriend's muscular frame had softened. There was a small, yet undeniable, swell to his belly.
Thomas was beyond ecstatic. He could tell Newt was just as happy, if not more so. But despite the happiness Thomas and Newt felt, Minho clearly struggled with the changes to his body. When he was a runner, there had been no room for softness—only endurance. When they were on the run from WCKED, there was only survival.
Thomas and Newt make sure that Minho sees his new softness not as a weakness, but as a regular part of their new life.
