Summary
Lucas nods, looking down at his feet. He doesn't regret introducing her to the Upside Down. He really doesn't. It's made her stronger as a person, introduced her to a group of loving and supportive friends, and has even made her happier than she was before she moved to Hawkins.
And yet, every day is spent hating himself for even letting her accept the risk at the arcade. Neither of them knew what "accepting the risk" would entail, much less trauma, death of friends, and Max's blindness.
But he can't do anything about it anymore, which is all the more reason to continue loathing that split second decision.
