Summary
Before she died, Columbina had looked so beautiful, and Sandrone had hated herself for thinking such a vile, unnecessary thought. Maybe that is why the ghost still follows her now, lingering in her walls, distorting her image in the mirror with her bloodless smile.

Summary
Buck is too busy disliking Eddie’s latest message to hear what Ravi just said. He clicks his phone off and shoves it away. “What was that?”
“A bet,” Ravi repeats. “We have a bet about you. You know, for how long it’ll take for you and Eddie to admit that you’re in love with each other.” He sniffs. “Chim’s already lost once. He put a new guess in like two months ago. Harry just got in on it too. It’s kind of like the 118 hazing ritual, if you think about it. They got me in my second week as probie.” A pause. “Wow, I definitely wasn’t supposed to tell you that.”
Ravi drunkenly reveals that the 118 have a bet on when Buck and Eddie are going to get together. Naturally, Buck has a normal reaction to this.

Summary
Jean wonders, briefly, what he is supposed to do now. He thinks about Jeremy going into that empty room with someone else. He thinks about them pinning Jeremy to Derrick’s useless bed. He thinks about the brown of Jeremy’s eyes being the only visible color through the mass of dark air, how close they would be.
He was right. This is a stupid game.
Then the bottle stops, and Jean recenters.
It’s pointing right back at him.
At the Trojans’ end of semester party, Jean and Jeremy get paired for a game of seven minutes in heaven.

Summary
When Al-Haitham seats himself, he finds Kaveh already looking at him. “Kaveh,” he says.
“Hello, teammate,” Kaveh says, appearing to decide on a smile that comes across a little like a grimace. Or maybe that’s on purpose. “It’s been a while. Actually, I feel like I never speak to you. Ever. Even at any of the several games we’ve played against each other. But now we’re roommates. Isn’t it funny how life works out?”
Years after being drafted to different professional hockey teams, Kaveh gets traded to Sumeru and becomes roommates with Al-Haitham.

Summary
“In any case,” Colin says, moving to stand up. “The three of us have always gotten on well together. I’m sure we’ll be excellent flatmates. What could possibly go wrong?”
Penelope can think of a few things, actually, but she’ll spare him.
Colin moves into the spare room in the flat Penelope shares with Eloise.
