No one has heard of Ilya Rozanov in nearly three weeks.

The centaurs get stranded near Shanes cottage and have to go there to not die in the cold. This gives Shane and Ilya a chance to reveal their relationship without saying anything. They are engaged but no one knows they are together yet so they have fun with that concept.

There was something small and confused in the question. But Ilya was still furious and raw.

The second the words left his mouth, he watched the pain roll across Shane's features like a thousand fractures shattering through glass.
Ilya had seen Shane nearly break ribs. He had seen him miss game-winning shots, take hits that left bruises blooming purple and black across his skin. He had never seen this.
Shane closed his eyes for a long moment. He shook his head slightly, a tiny movement, then nodded once as if agreeing with something only he could hear. His face twisted briefly with a fresh wave of pain before he forced it to still.

Summary
Montreal didn't take the news of Shane's and Ilya's relationship very well.
Shane would've never thought that the hatred of his teammates could run so deep, until he finds himself lying half-conscious on the floor, with blood coating his lips and face.
In the aftermath, Shane tries to protect Ilya as much as he can, not wanting to bother him with his fears.
Ilya doesn't want to do anyhting more than protect Shane from his fears, afraid Shane's refusal to talk will change their relationship irrevocably.
