Summary
“Alright,” Eddie shrugs, laissez-faire. He pulls Buck’s plate to the center of the table; pushes his own forward in kind. Then he begins a drawn-out circus routine of plucking an olive at a time up and out of the bowl and plopping them onto their respective dishes, one by one.
The delicate, repetitive movement of Eddie’s pinched fingers reminds Buck of picking the petals off of flowers. He loves me. He loves me not. He love—
An olive hits him square in the forehead.
“There,” Eddie says, resolute, as the pitted projectile tumbles to the ground at Buck’s feet. “Equal treatment.”
Or: Buck, Eddie, and the olive theory. Well, in theory.

“On a Wednesday,” Buck says.
“Yep.”
“As a friend.”
Eddie’s nose scrunches. “Ye-ep. Just about covers it.”
“Why?”

Summary
Eddie forgets how to speak.
Because there it is—undeniable, impossible to miss. The outline, boldly printed against the soft gray of Buck’s sweatpants. He immediately looks up at something else, anything else, eyes scrambling for purchase on something in the room.
Did Buck… know? No one wore pants like that without at least some awareness of the situation going on south of the waistband. He had to know. There was no way he didn’t. But he looked so casual about it. Oblivious.
Should Eddie tell him? What would he even say? Does he just cough pointedly and hope Buck gets the hint? There isn’t a protocol for accidentally looking at your best friend’s dick.
He sneaks another downward glance. Quick.
Jesus- Was Buck even wearing underwear?
or; Eddie notices something about Buck. And then he can’t seem to stop noticing.

Mike points between them again, eyes bright now with unmistakable fascination. “You’re literally the same person.”
“Mike.”
“That’s so—”
“Creepy,” Will finishes.
“Weird,” supplies the girl at the same time.
Mike grins. “Awesome.”
[Or: The one where Willow shows up, and everyone learns a thing or two about universal constants.]

Summary
“You’re so fucking infuriating.” Eddie spits the words out, voice trembling as he jabs a finger into Buck’s chest. “You’re exhausting, Buck. You’re so damn clingy and—and needy, it’s like you’re always there even when you’re not.”
His breath stutters, the tremble in his lip betraying the anger in his tone. It’s not just frustration—it’s panic, confusion, something breaking open.
“Eddie…” Buck’s voice is small, unsure. “What are you talking about?”
or
Buck gets shot, Eddie realizes he has religious guilt, and they have a dramatic love confession in the rain. (all in that order)
