“I take it a High School Reunion is a sort of human custom,” Spock concluded. He tilted his head at Jim. “If you are so distraught then I take it that it must be painful.”
Now Jim really laughed. “It’s not like that.” He waved his hand. “It’s one of those silly human get-togethers we have.”
“Yeah, and Jim doesn’t want to go alone,” Bones ribbed. “He needs a date.”
“I think you’ve said enough Bones!” Jim said hurriedly as Spock raised an eyebrow. “I don’t need one…But it will be hard going alone,” He admitted. “Or awkward, rather.”
“I see,” Spock said. He paused a moment, as if solving a mental equation. He turned to fully face Jim. “Then I would be happy to accompany you as ‘your date.’”
