    Summary

the tongue; the wanting. the first poem in the world is: i want to eat.

or: Clark has been inserted in the church for as long as he can remember. Even as a child, as a teen. Praying has always been the one thing he knows. The one thing he is able to do when all else fails. Nothing comes close to the power of God in his eyes, not even his own desires of the flesh. And those, well, he has many. Still, here he is. A seminarian. A candidate. About to be ordained as a transitional deacon. As pure as he can be, in every sense of the word. It’s his last night as simply Clark Kent. Tomorrow changes everything.

Bruce has been in love with Clark for as long as he can remember. Even as a child, as a teen. Loving Clark Kent came as natural to him as breathing. From the moment they first met, merely months after he had lost his parents, nothing comes close to Clark Kent in his eyes. Not even the people he has been with were enough to forget. And those people, well, were many. Now, here he is. After years of watching Clark give himself to church, Bruce feels like he is about to lose his chance for good if he doesn’t act on it. He has to. Tonight changes everything.

    Summary

He sighed to himself and downed the glass of champagne he'd been nursing—non-alcoholic, but enough to convince anyone who might give him a passing glance. He hated this, every time he had to do it. There was one surefire way to derail anyone who began wondering whether maybe Bruce Wayne was doing more than just donating funds to Batman.

His tie hung loose around his neck, shirt unbuttoned to halfway down his chest, laughing too easily, pressing close to everyone he spoke to, whispering in ears, playing the part, until he turned and froze on the spot.

Clark Kent, in his signature ill-fitting suit, stood holding a notebook and pen, staring at him with barely-concealed glee.

Bruce cringed internally. He hated this. He especially hated when it had to be witnessed by someone he actually respected.

or: After a Gala, Bruce and Clark end up in bed together. They're friends, just helping each other out, no strings attached. Which would be great, if Bruce hadn't been halfway to head-over-heels since the day they met.

    Summary

Overwhelmed by the feel of Bruce's heat around him he whispers a soft “You’re mine,” his hips are stuttering, legs shaking and he forces Bruce to look at him, eyes boring into him. Too overcome by the warmth in his chest he doesn't think about the slip, how honest he just was. How much he wants those words to be true.

When he looks into the fire burning in his gaze he understands why Icarus soared towards the sun. He could feel his own wings melting, spiraling towards the ocean blue in his eyes that would break him apart. If Ovid wrote this it would be less heartbreaking.

    “Replacement.”

Tim freezes, gaze still locked on Jack’s prone, silent form sprawled out on the floor, and pulls the phone back to look at the number.

It’s kind of funny, he thinks hazily. Of course he would accidentally kill his dad and then mistakenly call Jason, of all people.

    ‘Drake?’

Tim felt like he was choking. His throat was tight. He couldn’t swallow.

    ‘Damian?’ He managed.

Damian was… here. At Kent Farm. Dressed in the too-big Batman pajamas that Dick had bought him last Christmas as a joke. And- And-

Tim was wearing Kon’s t-shirt and his hair was messy and his lips were swollen and- He wasn’t ready for this- He wasn’t- He couldn’t-

How had he been so stupid?

Or: Tim comes out to Damian and prepares for the entire family to know by morning. It just so happens that Damian can keep a secret. Multiple, actually.
