Summary
Roy has been dead for a little over a year, and Jason isn't anywhere close to coping with his loss. Then Roy's ex, Cheshire, comes to Jason with shocking news and a plea for his help. As if that wasn't enough, there's a new assassin on the scene, and he's targeting archers. Jason couldn't save Roy, but maybe he can save Roy's family - and maybe there's more to this mysterious assassin than meets the eye.

Summary
The days passed slow as molasses, and some days Jason’s eyes drifted and lingered slower. It was enough to drive a man mad, and Roy felt it; itching under the collar and fingers itching more to twist in Jason’s bandannas or holsters and tug.
Time slowed in those moments, sound dampening like they were the only two in the world, and hell, Roy lived for those moments. Gasping for them as much as a shift of fresh air as summer rolled and swelled into something unbearable.
Time slowed, and Roy was grateful for it. Mostly because he’d look at Jason and know that time was slipping from them. Soon enough the danger would pass, soon enough Jason would get the twitch for open roads, and he’d be gone, just as sudden as he came.
(Or: the western au no one asked for, where an outlaw takes refuge on a old friend's farm and maybe they fall in love, who knows not me. Hey @hallmark call me I just wanna talk.)

The first time Jason had seen the scars, it had made him pause. Seawater dribbled from the sleeve of his soaked shirt.
Roy’s skin was interrupted at the hinge of his hip, by a dent-like, long scar which folded the muscle inwards. There was another on the side of his flank, just under the crest of his hipbone. And another—over the front of Roy’s left knee.
“Take a picture, Jason,” Roy’s trademark grin cracked across his face. “It’ll last longer.”
