Summary
Theo sighs dramatically and with full gusto, all the fight leaving him as he stares up at the ceiling.
“But I don't want to go to bed,” he whines quietly.
“I know,” Eddie says empathetically, “Going to bed is Buck’s least favorite part of the day, too. But, hey,” he continues, “The more sleep you get, the more energy you have for adventures tomorrow. Isn’t that right, Buck?”
“That’s right,” Buck says, “and Eddie told me that he was going to take you to see the Hollywood sign tomorrow.”
Eddie had not told Buck that he was going to take Theo to see the Hollywood sign.
Buck’s face appears on the screen, wearing a knowing grin, and Eddie realizes, with a fond sort of inevitability, that they’ll be going to the Hollywood sign tomorrow.

Buck picks up the pastry bag with the red frosting in it and haphazardly adds an ‘S’ and an ‘M’ to the now-smeared top of the cake. He squares his shoulders and schools his stony face into a smile dripping with faux-contrition, ready to present Sam with his second attempt.
Hen watches Eddie reach out again, then hesitate, one hand on the countertop, the other hovering in the air. He remains motionless as Buck carries the cake back over to the group. The space between them gets wider. His eyes trace Buck’s movements around the room, same as always.
Hen’s been on both sides of this equation.

Summary
It’s almost pitiful, really. Buck looks desperate, his jaw hanging open, and he’s sweating, flushed. He needs more. What kind of friend would Eddie be not to give it, not to give Buck what he needs? That’s how he rationalizes it. It’s something they do; Buck gives things to Eddie without him even knowing what he needs; help, a listening ear, just his company. Eddie tries to do the same. Sometimes he thinks they know each other better than they know themselves. What is this but a continuation of that dynamic?

He broke off abruptly. “You don’t think I’m in love with her, do you?”
Chimney stopped dead in his tracks. The baby giggled.
“I am,” Buck said with earnest conviction. “I’m in love with Hen.”An impromptu therapy session with Baby Nash leads Buck to a long-overdue breakthrough: he’s in love with Eddie — a revelation he fully intends to take that revelation to the grave.
Unfortunately for Buck, Chimney hears every word over the baby monitor.
Armed with too much information and minimal impulse control, one by one, Chimney recruits Maddie, Hen, and Ravi into an earnest but ill-considered plan to find out whether Eddie return Buck's feelings. Their investigation stirs up every unresolved crack in Buck and Eddie’s friendship that’s been simmering since Eddie announced his move to El Paso and sets off a chain of misunderstandings that might finally bring them back to each other — if it doesn’t break them apart first.

Eddie fumbles as he sets the bottle down on his bedside table. “No women.”
“What about men?” Buck blurts, which is—crazy, because again: neither of them are gay.
They’re just two straight guys. Two straight guys in Eddie’s bed, tipsy, and—and Eddie doesn’t want to sleep with women. Which means nothing.
Beside him, Eddie goes preternaturally still. “I would know, if I—you know.”
“Okay.” Buck’s hands twitch at his sides. “I—yeah. Me too.”
Then, very seriously, Eddie turns to look at him. “If I were gay, you would be my first call.”
Warmth blooms in Buck’s chest. Eddie’s so nice to him. “Dude,” he says, touched. “You’d be my first call too.”

Well. Yes. But straight guys don’t kiss their best friends. Not that Buck would really know, because he was kissing guys long before he knew he was bi, but with Eddie, it’s different.
The kiss could have been a bro thing, for sure.
