Summary
After Hatori's canon sexual assault, he left Yoshino without a trace in order to try to atone. Remorse and guilt continues to eat him up alive which he attempts to drown with his new job. But while celebrating Yoshino's birthday by himself, the taxi he’s in gets into a severe car accident. He's diagnosed with partial paralysis of his legs, but what's more surprising is the man sleeping by his side when he finally stirs in the hospital.
(I just want to say as someone who loves this pairing this is no way of me trying to condone or excuse Hatori’s canon initial actions. This was more of an idea I had that I wanted to explore in a character study-esque way.)

Those dominoes had fallen and shattered Takano. He felt unlovable and disgusting. All these rotten feelings had begun resurfacing and boiled a pot of self hatred. With no one and nothing to turn to, he had began indulging in drinking himself numb and engaging in pointless hook-ups.
