Summary
Talokan and Wakanda have existed for as long as the Middle Ages — ancient with reputations that have civilians whispering about them in hushed tones. Yet, their history is one embroiled with bloodshed, which has not only cost them lives on both sides but also often has the misfortune of spilling over and snuffing the lives of civilians unfortunate to find themselves caught within crosshairs.
Tired of the senseless bloodshed, T’Chaka Udaku of the Wakanda Family approaches Ch’ah Toh Almehen, proposing a truce that would put an end to the bitter enmity and usher in an alliance. The proposed solution involves a marriage of convenience between their children, both of whom are underage, with one of them too young to understand what the two patriarchs have agreed to.
Sixteen years later, all grown up and independent enough to live on her own, Shuri Udaku has completely forgotten about the vows repeated with naivete. To her, she was a little child following the script laid down by her Baba. For Namor, on the other hand, those words were binding enough, and he is not about to let her slip through his fingers.
He will bring her right where she needs to be — at home, with him, by his side. -

For a brief, yet very long moment, Namor wondered if his mutation not only caused him to have ears pointed to the sky, but greatly twisted his hearing ability as well.

“You have bound yourself to a woman in marriage without fulfilling its obligations,” the shaman explained. “The gods are displeased. You must fulfill your obligations to your wife and if you do not wish to stay together afterwards, you must release her from the marriage.”

In which Namor and Shuri discover that they are accidentally married after he gave her his mother’s bracelet and have to go through wedding rituals before they can get divorced.
