Possibly the worst part of the day was when Javadi was with McKay and Ogilvie. They were draining an abscess—nothing crazy or out of the ordinary. Javadi had been making the cuts, and Ogilvie had been holding the skin taunt for her. And her blade had slipped. Slipped. But Ogilvie had wrenched his hand came back with a yelp as blood trickled out of the cut. He stood up so fast he nearly tripped over the stool, darting out of the room.
or: Javadi accidently cuts Ogilvie with a scalpel. Everything fall apart from there.

Teylan did a lot of sleeping. It made it easier to not think. About the first HQ, about Mercer, about hands and shoes and belts hitting his skin. Na’vi skin bruises deep blue, then morphs into a ink-black color. Teylan knew this too well.
Even the bruises he got from helping HQ around made him remember cold blankets on TAP’s floor. Of hands and shoes and belts. He heard the allied Na’vi whisper he was soft, weak, ungrateful. But they didn’t know, so he let it roll off him. He let them whisper loudly when he avoided going outside—again—and crouched beside Priya instead.
