Summary
Lexi has managed to avoid every single house party from late April until now, so it’s about time her luck has run out. It’s the Fourth of July and she finds herself being dragged to some gathering in a mansion with an excited Maddy and a cautious Jules - her standard excuse of playing Rue’s sober buddy null and void this holiday weekend as her best friend is out of town at the lake house of some coworkers of her moms. The girls she finds herself flanked with have no idea that skipping out of house parties was also a convenient way to avoid a certain ginger-haired drug dealer.

.Fezco is posted up on a couch beside some ostentatious swimming pool, blunt hanging casually out of the side of his mouth while he taps the screen of his phone to life. He has learned to ignore the rising number of missed texts that pop up on the messages icon, more worried about the day the number stays the same and less about how high they get. It’s not as frequent these days, two months come and gone from when he pushed Lexi out of his life without a word, but he finds his fingers near constantly hovering over their text thread, an itch deep in his spine to just give in already.

“I want to rent you.” Lexi states it as wholesomely as she looks, and it’s enough to make Fezco choke on his saliva.
“You want to rent me?” He repeats in disbelief, not understanding those string of words in the slightest.
“Yeah, I overheard your and um, Ashtray’s situation,” She clears her throat whilst saying his name, like it didn’t feel right rolling off her tongue, “I’ll let you borrow $2,000 from me and all you have to do is pretend to be my boyfriend for a month.”

The woman stared intensely at Gus, her hand resting on the door frame. “Ten p.m.” She said sharply when he set the heavy bags down on the concrete.
“You ain’t here, I’m choppin’ your fucking dick off.”
au; Gus Howard dug himself into a deep hole with Marie O’neil, owing her a little over 10,000 bucks. As reassurance that he’d come back and pay his dues, he leaves the woman with his two daughters- Lexi and Cassie.
