"Emma brings her "not-so-great" boyfriend from Massachusetts to a birthday party her coworkers throw for her. They do NOT like him. Like not one bit (cause he's a total dick to Emma all night and doesn't take her career seriously at all). Maybe things heat up, tensions rise, maybe he gets really angry at Emma or her coworkers, maybe the pitt staff throw him out... maybe some Jemma or Novans crumbs are present... and Emma finally realizes how horrible her boyfriend is.

Emma knew she was in over her head when Joy asked her on a date, then refused to tell her where they were going. Joy’s only instruction was to wear close toed shoes she was comfortable moving around in.
So now she stands in front of her mirror, white converse at her feet, smoothing the pink tennis skirt against her thighs, wondering if she’s far too overdressed. Logically, what could Joy be taking her to?

She can feel Joy’s eyes on her, and hates the way it knocks the wind out of her. Joy has this strange ability to pin Emma in place with just a look, no physical force required.

“You don’t sound excited.” Lou noted, pushing off of the railing. She began to walk towards the stairs. “You should be. I am feeling very generous tonight, dear. People would kill to be in the position you’re about to be in.”
Ryong’s eyebrow raised at the word ‘position’. She had been in multiple positions with Lou over the past few weeks, and while Lou made sure Ryong was grateful, she never had this kind of pretense. Never too much foreplay, always to the point. Maybe she was feeling dramatic, the pull to play with her food before eating it.
