"Katana," the child says after an eternity of silence. "My name is Katana."

An invisible snare clasped around Tenzo's heart. How could he still be in love with someone who had never existed? He exhaled, shaking the image away.
‘He was never real,’ he reminded himself for the thousandth time. ‘None of it was real.’
With a knot in his throat, he forced the tears away as he focused on the task at hand.
