Summary
As a minority and a product of the foster care system, not only has Cia never had a good encounter with cops, she's been harmed by them. So when she found out her cute neighbor Jay was a cop, she noped out before they'd even properly met.
Jay had initially assumed Cia's aversion to cops was due to the ongoing social issues that got boiled down into ACAB. When he realised that wasn't it, he left the door open for her to come to him for help, then stepped back.
Neither of them realised that their survival would depend on the other.

A downpour and 24 hours can change your life.
Ashleigh Glenn is a PA on Chicago PD, having been transferred over from Fire some months before. Shortly after she joined the show, Jesse Soffer realised that he liked her--more than he should have, since he was still dating Torrey. Even after they broke up, he never told Ashleigh how he felt, until now.
As a fan of the show Ashleigh has had a crush on Jesse for years. However–between believing he was still in a relationship as well being crew–she didn't feel comfortable saying anything until he confessed his own interest.
On Set: One Chicago is a new series focusing on relationships developing within the One Chicago franchise. Most, if not all, will be a canonical cast member paired with an original character. Each paring will have their own story.
As evidenced by the tags, I am making no attempt to remain true to canon or timelines, so characters may show up out of sync, or not at all.
Buckle up, suspend reality, keep hands in the car at all times, and enjoy the ride.
