Summary
A further exploration of daemons, their interactions with the Arcane, and how Jayce and Viktor understand each other for the worse.
☆✦☆✦☆
He couldn't fail. He couldn't. Viktor had to die. Radko had to die. Either would do. One would follow the other. He couldn't fail them.
Jayce slammed a hand onto the daemon's shoulder. His adrenaline roared, crowding out all other sensations. He barely felt the flex and strain of living metal. He barely felt the rush that tore through his chest, buzzing in his nerves.
It all happened in less than a second. The contact. The brutal intent.
Viktor screamed.

Summary
Jayce and Viktor vanish from the roof of the Hexgate and reappear thirty years later completely unchanged: Jayce still bruised and broken, Viktor still behind the Machine Herald's mask.
Meanwhile, the twin cities of Piltover and Zaun have continued on without them. Science and magic meet in startling ways, the dead rise, and foreign political powers threaten to undermine the work done to recover from the battle three decades prior. Veteran champions struggle to protect the city's foundations while young, upstart rebels fight to determine its future. The waters are rising, the forests are evolving, and the peoples of Runeterra are finding new ways to make old mistakes.
And, in the middle of it all, Jayce and Viktor figure out how to be.
(Oct. 26th, 2025) Hello! I am not dead, both in the sense that fic writers normally use that phrase and also literally---if you know you know. As to why I haven't written, well, to use another popular saying literally: I've been losing braincells. This tends to get in the way of my productivity. Writing is slow but happening, so please have patience while the author gets their shit together. The Boys of Progress aren't the only ones figuring out how to be.)

Summary
By the time he's finished flinging himself past the airlock and bolting the door shut behind him, he’s forgotten the reason for his urgency. A dull thud of locks engaging. He’s forgotten where he is. A relaxing, pneumatic hiss. He’s forgotten who he is.

Your name is Viktor.

Summary
Viktor is visited by a future version of Jayce, fresh from a world overtaken by the Arcane. And then it happens again. And again. And again.
(originally meant to be a crack fic poking fun at the prevalence of the s1!Viktor and s2!Jayce trope, but then I decided to place Viktor lovingly into the torment nexus and shake him like he's a cobb salad I bought from the supermarket deli)

Summary
An exploration of how Jayce and Viktor's daemons would settle, interact, and spur new discoveries between the two.
☆✦☆✦☆
“Does the Wolf not hunt the Lamb as well?” Viktor asked, haltingly. The drink, the closeness, Jayce’s eyes. It was all a little much and Viktor was beginning to burn. “I seem to recall that being an important part of the myth.”
“Sure,” Jayce said. He was vaguely aware of their daemons moving on the other side of the room, making scuffling noises as if playing keepaway, but it was the furthest thing from his mind. “But you can’t have one without the other, and you’re the only person I’d ever want to be my Wolf.”
When Viktor opened his mouth, he intended to sound amused, to pose it as a question, a retort, but he was so warm and the curve of Jayce’s body held him just so that his brain fuzzed. It came out as a defeated admission. “And you, my Lamb.”

Summary
Piltover’s Defender of Tomorrow dies on Wednesday evening. By Thursday, the announcement hits the morning gazette, and it won’t leave the news cycle until well past the Sunday edition.
Zaun’s Machine Herald scoffs the first time he reads it, tossing the stained and torn paper that his apprentice brought down the conveyor behind his shoulder. He is rewiring his left arm again, trying to iron out why his sensors detect a microsecond’s delay between the synapses firing in his brain and the acknowledgement by his mechanical nerves.
“Natural causes,” he scoffs. “He is what? Sixty years old? Men that rich do not die that young.”

Summary
Once or twice a month, Silco dreams that the police are standing on his front porch. I'm sorry, Grayson says, holding her hat across her chest. There was nothing we could do. And when Silco staggers past the threshold, the scene warps into a funeral parlor, and he's staring at the peaceful, porcelaneous face of his child just as the coffin lid is closing. Silco screams until his throat is raw: Don't cover him. Please. He'll suffocate. He is only a boy. But darkness swallows the casket anyway, and Silco falls in after him, pleading, mouth filling with dirt—
In nearly all ways, the reality is worse.
"I'm Marcus with Piltover PD. It's about your son."
"Tell me," Silco says. "Tell me what has happened to Viktor."

Summary
Jayce Talis hasn’t skated in 147 days.
But he still comes here. Most mornings, just before sunrise. Climbs to the top bleacher like he’s surveying a holy ruin. One leg strapped in carbon and velcro. The other twitching with the echo of routines he used to run in his sleep. The ache is familiar now. A quiet, persistent hum beneath the ribs.
He used to own this place. The rink, the ice, the silence. It bowed beneath him like it was lucky to be chosen. Every jump was a threat, every spin a dare. He hadn’t realized how much of his sense of self came from the sound of applause.
Now the silence feels accusatory.
But still — he comes.
Today, though, there’s someone else on the ice.

Summary
The scientific method, the golden rule of innovation, stated that you had to test your principle a few hundred times before your hypothesis could be accepted as fact. You had to fail in a myriad of ways before anything resembling the first breakthrough. It was simply the risk of invention. Nowhere did it account for the easy, simple way Jayce and Viktor slotted together on the first try, the transformation of how their collective years and heated discussions, and even the rare moment of heartbreak, could smoothen into a single golden thread of enduring.
Nowhere could it fathom the way Jayce looked at him, flushed and excited after a night out and said “V, let’s find a place together”
Or: Jayce overthinks his adult autism diagnosis, and Viktor overthinks moving in together. Between the two of them, they rediscover what it means for someone who know you wholly, and love you anyway
