Keefe Sencen was five years old.
Keefe Sencen was five years old and he still was too young to understand much of the things going on around him.
He didn’t understand why his mother had retreated to her quarters, only to be seen at mealtimes, or why his sisters stopped their worried whispering whenever he entered the room. In three months, his mother would disappear into the night, and Keefe would watch her go, believing her lie that she was simply going to the market.
Over and over he would run that night over, wishing he could change the past. The more cynical side of him knew wishes didn’t exist. Because if magic and wishes did exist, then there was a chance for something to save him. To make his life better. And he knew better than to hope that.

Fitz hears a crash, the sound of shattering glass. His gaze whips to Keefe's feet, where a cloud of pink dust is rising from a broken vial.
"Oh no," he says, instinctively rushing towards Keefe. He grabs Keefe's arm, and for once, he's not hyperanalyzing how easily his fingers curve around it. "Are you okay? Did the glass cut you?"
"Fuck," Keefe says, sounding dazed.

Summary
After everything that has happened, Fitz wants nothing more than for his friends and especially his sister to be happy.
One day, Biana comes to Fitz talking about a crush of hers. She tells him that her crush is the one and only, Dex Dizznee. Fitz may have had doubts about her affections if he were thirteen, but years have passed, and the odd rivalry between him and Dex has faded, so he doesn't have much of a reason to not like Dex. She asks him if she could help him, and who is Fitz to say no?
He ends up becoming her wingman, promising her to discover little things about Dex to tell her so she has more information on him (sometimes he learns unintentionally). It's not a hard thing to do, considering Dex is already enamored (or is he?) with Biana; it shouldn't be too long until they get together. As of now, Fitz thinks he's doing a marvelous job!
That is until … he promptly falls in love with Dex Dizznee himself.
