At three to five AM in the morning, the Eta Aquarids meteor shower would be at its peak viewing hours. He had homework assignments to work at, tests to prepare for, and sleep to be had, but this wasn’t something he could simply miss.

Midoriya Izuku had a lot of free time on his hands. He loved to spend hours tucked away in the library, diving deep into the winding paths of his mind. But there were times when he felt like crawling out of his skin- when the only relief he could find was pushing his body to the limit. There's a rush in the burn of well-used muscles, an exhilaration in aching lungs that he finds himself returning to.
When late night runs find Izuku racing along rooftops, well... He can't help but become addicted.
Or: Izuku accidentally becomes a vigilante because what else was he supposed to do?

Izuku doesn't have a quirk. To villains, that means he's not worthy of fear, of concern. Of even attention.
And isn't that interesting.

Summary
UA has a rule—no quirkless students. It was added years ago, after much hemming and hawing about safety concerns and lessening blame in the inevitable circumstance of death. There's no real reason to remove it, not as the percentage of quirkless people plummets further and further.
Of course, this rule doesn't actually matter to Izuku, because he's got an analysis quirk.
As far as anyone knows.
The Plan is simple: have a quirk, become a hero, and avoid anyone who could disprove those first two things.
In hindsight, UA isn't a great choice. And that's before the villains.

20-year-old Pro Hero Deku gets thrown back in time from a timeline where AFO has basically conquered Japan, leaving UA and Shiketsu as the lone places of safety from his Nomu army.
He doesn't get thrown back in time into his own younger body, though, he wakes up as someone else:

"My name is Danny Fenton… and I think I'm dead."
Danny had been missing for over a year when she found it… a journal tucked under his pillow that definitely hadn't been there the day before. It was a small leather bound book about seven inches tall, four inches wide, and an inch thick. Maddie remembered it being the journal his friend Sam had gotten him for his birthday the month before he'd gone missing. Finding it under Danny's pillow was shocking to say the least, more shocking however were the contents.
