Watching Luka's pulse beat erratically under his fingers and the struggle the blonde had to take another breath, Ivan began to sense anger bubbling inside of him. How dare that genitalia lookalike do whatever he pleased to Luka? It was the first time Ivan had ever felt such strong emotions and it was making things difficult. But he understood the reason why Luka struggled to talk about his training was due to what he was subject to all this time, which was memories he didn't want to bring up.
He was waiting until the other mentioned what he was going through, but the moment he walked past that opened door was when he truly knew that Luka was treated differently compared to the rest of the human children in the Garden.

The room is too bright.
It’s quaint, in a nauseating sort of way. Polished floors glint from the gleaming honeycomb chandeliers overhead, make him squint. A few vases sprinkled here and there, filling the room with a sickeningly sweet scent – even a waffle-cone headrest framing the silken sheets of a neatly-tucked bed. Outside, the golden sun gleams, the gentle rays of light spilling past curtains that waver in the afternoon breeze.
