Utilizing a close reading approach, this work endeavors to reconstruct the timeline of events leading to the mysterious disappearance of Sir John Franklin and his crew in the Arctic in the mid-19th century. Drawing insights from the recovered¹ ship logs of HMS Erebus and Terror, particular emphasis will be placed on the expedition's challenges—environmental, navigational, psychological, and preternatural.

It’s a second too long to be chaste, and Ned feels the barest flicker of tongue against his lips before the preacher pulls back, taking his smell of incense and tobacco with him.
