The rebellion ended as quickly and as chaotically as it began. A surprise attack followed by a firefight that left all of the Major’s men disarmed and dead. The surviving Walkers scattered in all directions, disappearing into the haze of gunpowder that lingered in the late evening air. Most sprinted off on their own while a few chose to stick together.

“You’re Billy Stebbins, number 38, right?”
Stebbins answered with an icy glare and a cold shoulder, an invisible front presented between them with each passing second.
The shorter boy didn’t seem to be put off by this and instead kept his gaze for a second longer.“I’m Harkness, by the way.”
Or Stebbins realizes far too late that Harkness was all he needed during the walk.

There’s little bits of gravel in the scrape on Gary’s face. His fingers pick at the viciously stinging flesh under the stripped away layers of skin. If he moves a little to the right he could poke his eye. Get gravel and blood in there too. Or maybe just poke it right out.
