    Shane shook his head but otherwise didn’t make a sound.

    Hayden set his beer down and used the hand that held the beer to rub his face as if that would give him some extra clarity to the situation.

    “Do you want it to be more? It’s ok to want more, you know? Maybe she wants the same.”

    Shane shook his head again. “Maybe. Yes. I don’t know. But I can’t.” He felt so stupid not knowing his own thoughts. Everything was starting to feel closed in again. It was getting harder for him to breathe.
