“So we’re here,” Lando points to the label on the map reading ‘Kawakawa bay’, “and we want to be…. where?” he trails off looking over at Carlos who was staring intently at the map.
“I think the lady said It was one bay over?”
Lando drops his head on the table. “Mate,” he exhales, forehead pressed to the wood “I cannot believe we are travelling to some random-as-fuck beach campsite because the lady in the supermarket line recommended it”
“She was a nice lady, Lando” Carlos chides, “old people know things.”
“Of course we’re trusting beach advice from an ancient stranger in the supermarket queue. That’s totally normal.”Or, the one where best friends Carlos and Lando travel to an isolated beach in New Zealand on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to cure Carlos’s quarter life crisis and maybe even find a bit of love along the way.

Oscar stands up and strides over to the door, entirely done with this humiliation. “Right. Goodnight Lando.” He doesn't know where he's going, this is his room after all. Maybe to the roof.
“No no, please Osc it's hot,” Lando pleads, scrambling off the bed and chasing him. The words don't register in Oscar's brain until Lando puts a firm hand on his wrist to stop him from leaving.
Oscar froze. “What?”
“It’s hot…” Lando muttered, nodding downwards at the tent in his sweatpants.
