Summary
"That's sort of the point here," Eoin laughs, and it's as if a thousand bells start ringing all at once, and Paddy has to mentally beat himself up for thinking like an eighteenth century poet and even thinking about staying. Paddy wishes he could tell him he looks everything but ridiculous. Eoin looks like he belongs — tall, proud, and absurdly attractive.

Summary
Paddy goes to David Stirling’s birthday party against his better judgement, fully intending to have one drink, stay out of the way, and leave as soon as he can.
Instead, he notices a man on the dance floor.
Paddy does not, as a rule, watch people.
He certainly does not, as a rule, cross a room to speak with them.
And he does not, under any circumstances, invite them home.
But rules have never served Paddy Mayne particularly well.Bookmarked by lipsapart
