Summary
In a snowglobe spell we're cast.
Underneath the Christmas moon.“A snow globe,” Eddie said, staring in awe at the beautiful snow globe in his hands. It was absolutely stunning, with a red and green base and a complete snowy landscape embedded in the interior of the globe. Eddie studied it carefully. There were trees and little painted woodland animals hiding underneath them, and even in them. In the middle stood a beautiful little cottage, intricately adorned with tiny Christmassy details: miniature lights, wreaths of holly all around.
“There’s a switch on the bottom,” Chimney said. He sounded excited.
Eddie flipped it and suddenly the globe was a beacon of light, the tiny cottage lighting up in the snowy landscape. And— in front of the cottage there was a small figure. Something he had missed without the light on. It was the figurine of a tiny man, beautifully crafted and painted to perfection.
This is a story about breakups, curses, attraction, loneliness, falling in love, finding happiness and joy, but most of all this is a story about a snow globe and how it changed the course of Eddie Diaz and Evan Buckley's life forever.

Summary
What if Eddie has known how he felt about Buck all along?
He couldn’t possibly explain any of that to anyone, because for two months now he had been choking on it, walking around with a big fake grin on his face, always overly cheerful, nauseatingly happy and positive and attentive when each morning Buck would waltz into the station, floating on clouds and love and—Tommy.

Summary
A Buddie fic from Chimney’s POV:
He took a deep breath, trying to settle the nausea that came with the piercing headache. The air tasted a little stale, but that was to be expected so far underground. At least there seemed to be plenty of oxygen, so no suffocating for them today.
Wait a minute—
Them?“Oh shit! Eddie!”
AKA Chimney is having a bad day and all he wants to do is get home to Maddie. Preferably he would also like to get Eddie home in one piece to Christopher and Ana—or um Buck?

Summary
Today was the day that Eddie Diaz would come clean, because he couldn’t do it. Buck meeting Amber and falling for her head over heels had been hard on him, but Buck had just asked him to be his best man, to proudly stand up next to him as he vowed to belong to another. This was not something Eddie could do.

Summary
“Aw,” Harry says, smiling. “That’s adorable. Is it like—is it a thing? Do all of you keep pictures in your helmets?”
A murmur of general consensus ripples through their group. Harry, apparently delighted by this new knowledge, demands to see everyone’s secret photos.
“They’re kind of private,” Eddie says, crouched down to unlace his boots. He has a smudge of soot over his left cheek, and his hair has come loose from the gel, a lock of it curling over his brow. Buck likes him like this, just a little dishevelled.
or, firefighters sometimes keep photographs of the people they love inside their helmets, to remember who they’re fighting to come home to. eddie’s isn’t what buck expects.

Summary
Buck knows three things for certain, and one thing for maybe.
Number one: Eddie does not have a POA.
Number two: if the doctors had come to the waiting room to ask what the group had thought Eddie’s wishes were, all eyes would’ve turned to Buck.
Number three: isn’t that what a POA is, really?
The maybe: Eddie would put Buck in his will a second time.Or: Eddie's hurt on the job. Again. Buck spreads misinformation in the waiting room.

Summary
Eddie climbs onto the bed. They sit side by side, legs extended, two letter L’s protruding off the page. Instead of pressing play like Eddie is expecting, Buck laughs.
“What?” Eddie asks, an instinctive smile caressing his lips.
Buck grips his jaw, thumb brushing over his teeth before he bites at the broad nail, stifling. “Just—did you ever see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?”
Eddie nods. “Gene Wilder.”
“That’s the one,” Buck chuckles around his thumb, then lets it slide free. “You know the grandparents?”
Then Eddie’s laughing too. “Jesus,” he says on an exhale.
“I’m just saying,” says Buck, still giggling. “I’ve seen our future, and it’s bright.”
Or: God created the world in seven days. It only takes Eddie six to surreptitiously move into Buck’s house.

Summary
“What, uh,” Buck says, stopping at the top of the stairs. “What’s going on here?”
Sam steps around the island, grinning, “Hey, man! I made spaghetti to thank everyone for the warm welcome. Want me to make you a plate?”
Warm? Welcome?
For the guy who lied to a room full of bureaucrats who were ready to fire Chimney over it?
A clink of silverware hitting porcelain drags Buck’s confused glare back to the table, as four other sets of silverware follow after it. Like a wind chime of betrayal, ringing the bitter song of the 118’s treachery, their silverware sings with shame.
At least, that’s what it sounds like to Buck.
--
Or, Buck catches Sam cooking for the 118.
