Summary
Ten years after the wedding of Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen, the ancestral home of the Targaryen family has been flourishing under the leadership and protection of its Lady Paramount and her steadfast Lord Consort.
The true dragons have thrived without the chains of King's Landing and are joined in the skies by their many hatchlings - children who only know love and support from their large family. Maekar Rivers is twenty-two, broke, wearing a polyester suit from the Sisters’ Street clearance rack, and three months into an internship at Targaryens Corp’s Historical Risk Department. His commute from Flea Bottom is a daily act of violence, the archive smells of mould, and his supervisor keeps insisting that Baelor Targaryen, immaculate CEO and dynastic golden boy, is about to die because the Blackfyres have hidden an ancient blood-working inside a corporate forum.
Maekar does not believe him.
Unfortunately, Brynden Rivers is very good at being insane, Baelor keeps looking at Maekar like he has seen him somewhere before, Aegor Rivers has turned a centuries-old blood feud into a biotech strategy, and even in the twenty-one century Westeros remains a savage place.
