Sunday takes Aventurine’s foot in his gloved hand and examines it. It is indeed ‘all better’, as he says. For some reason, it doesn’t make him feel any better. “I’m glad,” is all he can say. Another half-truth. He subconsciously prefers to speak in evasive truths rather than complete lies — it seems that part of Gopher Wood’s teachings still resides in him, though he’d prefer not to think of the man. “I’m aware you two heal …faster than others. I’m no stranger to the mara-struck.”
It’s a silly thing to say, a child trying to shield their bruised ego — Sunday had very much been a stranger to mara, until he’d joined the Stellaron Hunters and met Blade. Even then, it had taken him a while to learn.
“Perhaps,” Blade says, indulging him rather than laughing at him. “It appears you still… worry.”
“Ah,” Sunday’s caught off guard. He often forgets how perceptive Blade can be, despite his stoic face.
OR: Sunday gets taken care of, aka ruined, by the two men he loves most.
