When looking at Tim, Kon notices that his are… different from the others.

Long story short, Kon doesn’t make it on time. Tim’s falling from the sky and Kon flies as fast as he can but he’s too late.
Tim’s body hits the tarmac and the sound it makes brings Kon to his knees.

Conner's words sounded strangled and he flinched with the pain of swallowing.
‘God, you don't understand. It’s not just about you, Tim. If I came back and you were- Because I’d- I don’t know what I’d do. Anyone nearby I’d-’ he stuttered a breath and steadied himself.
‘If I killed you, Tim, I’d destroy it all. I wouldn’t be able to control that kind of grief.’
Or: Conner turns up in the middle of the night after a mission gone wrong. Tim learns that seeing Conner cry makes him feel like his heart has been torn out of his chest.
