    In 2008, Shane Hollander was the Next Big Thing in hockey. Then a baby he didn't know he had changed everything. Shane walked away from the MLH draft, choosing a life of diapers and midnight feedings over the Stanley Cup. Eighteen years later, his life is back on track, and his greatest achievement is about to make his MLH debut for the Ottawa Centaurs.

    Ilya Rozanov, captain of the Centaurs, has only one goal: secure his Canadian citizenship, come out, and finally live life on his own terms. He remembers Shane Hollander as a pretty boy from a World Juniors game in Saskatchewan.     Shane doesn't bother reading them. He taps on the website and waits for it to load. Only to be met with error.

    Sighing he exits the page and keeps on scrolling. Nothing that is open catches his interest and the rest are closed. He's wondering how stale celery would taste dipped in pickle juice when his eyes land on Irina's Kitchen once more.

    There's a phone number under the address. Shane bites his lower lip and wonders if he should call.

    A woman with an accented voice picks up after the 5th ring.

    “Hello?”

    “Uh, hey, are you guys still open?”
