Summary
Eventually, Ilya's gaze drifts away from a poster detailing the horrors of skin cancer, moving to the man seated behind the desk, and—
Oh.
Okay. Not so boring anymore.
Dr. Hollander is younger than Ilya expected; mid-thirties, maybe, with dark hair and warm brown eyes and dozens of faint freckles dotted over his cheeks. His white coat is fitted, stretching just slightly across his shoulders and snug around his biceps in a way that suggests he must spend quite some time at the gym. He's well-built, almost as well-built as Ilya, and Ilya is a damn professional hockey player. Which makes him wonder, briefly, what this man does in his off-hours besides poking at people’s skin.
Mostly though, there’s a twisting happening deep in Ilya’s gut because, fuck his fucking life, Dr. Hollander is hot.

Summary
“Is someone chasing you?” Ilya drawls.
He turns, and yeah, this guy doesn’t look like much of a smoker. Ilya’s learned through time and experience that stoners come in all shapes and sizes, but it’s clear that he isn’t one: hair cut neat and short, straight-laced, brows furrowed into a scowl, shoulders all tight—too squared away. He’s probably not much of a drinker, either, if Ilya had to guess.
And he’s wearing a fucking suit, for Christ’s sake.
So boring, Ilya thinks, strangely delighted. He wants to take him by the collar and scruff up his hair, if only to see what he might do in response.
Or, Shane's struggling with anxiety. Hayden thinks his grumpy weed dealer might be able to help.

Summary
Ilya rubs at his nose, thumb hovering over the text screen as he thinks of the least-weird way he can offer what he’d like to offer. In the end, he settles for straightforwardness. Shane’s never complained about how seemingly blunt he is before, he doesn’t think he’ll start now.
Lily: I could read it to you
Lily: If you’d like
Or: Shane can't read before bed after getting hit during the Boston game. It gives him a headache. Ilya volunteers his voice.
