“Do what?”
“Play like that. The guitar, I mean.” He crouched down to my eye level. From there, I could see his face a little better, though I made an effort not to stare too much. “Come to my house and teach me,” Damon continued, “I’ve got a bit of space in my gran’s garage— It’s pretty decent.”
“I don’t know you,” I repeated.
“Didn’t we just go over this?” He asked, scratching his cheek and looking a little discouraged.
“Yes, but I— I’m just trying to be careful. You can’t expect me to just say yes to—”
“I’ll pay you.”

Summary
Graham feels like a caged animal. He’s always thought that if he were to be reincarnated as something, he’d choose a praying mantis, so he could get killed right after mating. Seems about right, really. The particular feeling of being so desperate he could crawl out of his own skin had gotten worse that one afternoon, after coming face to face with one of his most shameful little weaknesses: that blond lad with the earring and the pretty nose.

He can’t toss himself right now. He’s pissed. He’s tired. He’s been given the wrong room. He’s running on three hours of sleep. And a crick in his neck from nodding off in the car. Despite the growing list of grievances that demand more of his attention, he’s still so angry with Graham it makes him see white. The kind of angry that stems from a broken heart at the center.
If he’s so mad, why’s he so hard?
Sometimes Damon scares himself.
OR
(It's 2003, and despite being bitterly and quite publicly estranged, Damon and Graham find themselves double-booked for the same hotel room on one of the year's busiest weekends. They'll have to deal with it.)

“I was gonna come in here and try to haggle with you, but I don’t think either of us really have the gumption.” That got a real laugh out of Graham, escaping like it was punched out of his stomach. “It’s no problem, you can come in here and listen to it anytime you want.”
“Will you let me use your headphones again?” Damon smiled at him crookedly. Is he flirting?
“Yeah, I’m working here most of the time when I haven’t got class. My headphones are yours to borrow.”
Damon bit his lip. Definitely flirting.
Or; Damon is a university student passionate about collecting American hip-hop records and Graham works at a music shop. They fall in love and live happily ever after!
