Shane gasped and stumbled backwards. “Three weeks? You decided-” his hands flew to his mouth. “How could you do this without talking to me? This is what? To punish me because I won’t come out on your timeline?”
Ilya felt a stab of anger. “You won’t come out on any timeline!”
Shane blinked at him. “I literally drove here tonight because I wanted to know if you would accept six to twelve months!”
“A timeline,” he barked. “This is our lives, Shane. I want to be with you fully now. I know you are scared, but you need to be brave, and I am so deeply fucking unhappy being your dirty little secret.”
“That’s not fair Ilya, it’s going to be complicated for me. I’m already the only Asian captain in the league! The media, sponsors, the Voyageurs? It’s going to need to be carefully managed-”
Or: After the Boxing Day fight, Ilya loses faith in the idea that Shane will come out quickly and decides to make a wild move and agrees on a trade to Vancouver. Can these two idiots in love find their way back to each other?

"Fuck off," Shane grumbled, punching Ilya playfully in the shoulder. "Did you tell them how inappropriate that is? How-"
"Moy lyubimiy, I did not stay to chat, is bad manners," Ilya sighed, pulling his Omega against his chest despite the grumbling. "I will give very stern talking to later. No one will ever dare to get off in showers but us."

Or, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are leading the centaurs to their second Stanley Cup and enjoying a love lived out in the open. It's not always easy. Ilya's still learning to be an Alpha. Shane's still learning to let him. Luca Haas is still a busy body and Troy Barrett definitely needs therapy, but everyone is working on it. Shane is living with sunshine and rainbows trying to organize and plan his wedding to Ilya, meanwhile Ilya is living in a tragedy thinking that Shane will call off the wedding, so cute and sweet! Boston is mean to Ilya and Montreal is decent to Shane. Second work in the series is the social media reactions to the first work.
“After the tuna melt debacle, but before Rose, Ilya makes the reckless decision to go to a gay bar to take his mind off of Shane. When photographs get published, Shane has a realization and devises a plan: he's going to ask Ilya Rozanov to marry him.
