    Summary

Akechi Goro leaped before looking - it was a simple opening, a simple proposition that would ingratiate him with his prime suspects. Their voices matched the ones he heard in Madarame's Palace. All he needed to do was confirm his suspicions. He rounded the corner, and steel grey eyes focused on him as he appeared, sending his words to the back of his throat. Akechi's perfect smile bought him time; it always did. He was pleasant enough despite the empty-eyed looks possessed by the ones with lighter hair. Before continuing on his way after a miscommunication about food, he glanced over his shoulder, staring back at the lensed glare that practically pinned him against the wall.

Akechi set a task to add Amamiya Ren to his plans, unaware that he had already revealed his hand.

    OR

A retelling of Persona 5 Royal, swapping between Joker and Akechi's perspectives with a heavy emphasis on Shuake/Akeshu. Original events have been added, tweaks to certain plot points to adjust pacing, and the relationship between Joker and Akechi has been incorporated without changing the story's overall course.

    Summary

For one of the first times in his life, Akechi’s speechless. He knows what his old self would say—You couldn’t possibly understand how I feel, attic trash—but Akechi is tired. Tired of his old self swirling in his heart, full of rage. Tired of his “new” self poised in his mind, which is so stuffed with rationality and psychoanalysis that he’s nothing more than a cast off shell. He’s just fucking tired.

“Listen,” Akira continues. “Why don’t we just…start over? I know that might be difficult given what we’ve been through, but you came back here for a reason, right?”

Akechi almost barks out a laugh. Typical Kurusu, with the keen ability to read him so well. With the quiet charisma he begrudgingly admired. It tugs and pulls at his chest like a puppet on strings.

    “You haven’t changed,” Akechi says.

Akira grins sheepishly, placing a hand on his neck. “Play me at chess, and you’ll figure out what has.”

    Summary

A soft breeze dipped into the alleyway, picking up strands of Akechi’s hair and sending them floating on the wind, carrying his scent. Ren inhaled as he instinctively took a step backward, his back landing against the metal door to the club and slamming it shut, locking them both outside.

The scent of Akechi took Ren back thirteen years to that very scene. Soft and light, such a contrast to this man’s aura. It felt absolutely lethal. And yet, Ren’s mouth watered despite his quenched thirst. He palmed the brick wall behind him, nails digging into their porous surface. His fangs began to creep out of their hiding spot, every inch of him yearning, begging for a taste.
