“I would have taken that as a warning, kiddo.” the older Joestar joked back, flashing his son one of his rare, goofy grins that grew wider and softer when he heard his child’s laughter, wrapping an arm around Josuke’s shoulder to pull him closer, side hugging.
Josuke, inside his father's embrace, smiled shyly and — as if it was the most natural thing to do in the whole world — let himself rest against the man’s side as they both watched with their hearts full of love the chaotic scene unfold in front of them, laughing from time to time whenever something stupid happened or was said.

“Why?” she asked him more firmly, more confident in her words “Why did you risk your life to save me?”Jotaro stayed quiet for a while and only kept his blue-teal eyes staring into her amethyst ones, showing no emotion on his eyes nor his face, but making her feel as if he was communicating something to her, something she couldn't comprehend quiet yet.
“I don’t know” he simply said as he turned back and started walking outside the room “To be honest… I’m not very sure myself…”
Feeling overwhelm by his boldness in admitting he had saved her but didn’t know why caused some tears to form in Noriko’s eyes as she looked down at her lap, shielding her eyes from the other three in the room with her red bangs, almost in the verge of crying.

“And with me?” Naim’s piercing eyes urged Ryan to lay his soul bare.
“You’re different.” Was what he settled on to not reveal his true feelings. Naim was different. He was gentle and touched Ryan as if he would break. At night he played a montage of all the different versions of Naim that he memorized over the time they spent together. Naim, with his pupils blown from the weed, regarding him lazily. Naim’s warm body under his, letting out soft whimpers whenever Ryan pressed him harder against the concrete. Naim, holding his gaze at school and at church, the same way he held their secrets between them. Naim, Naim, Naim. Only ever Naim. Ryan knew what made him happy (late night talks and baggy clothes), what scared him (a lot of things but mostly heights and stagnancy and being forgotten), what turned him on (Ryan mouthing at his neck and when he pushed his tongue past Naim’s lips).

Ryan has lived with this curse long enough to be able to tell the entity and the real Naim apart. Or does he?

They don’t speak on the bus. Maybe it’s the fragile truce that’s formed since the bus passengers proved they were both somehow still alive. Together. Maybe it’s the soft peace that’s settled since Naim allowed himself to bury his face in Ryan’s shoulder once again. And Ryan nuzzled against him in return. Maybe it’s wondering if Ryan, too, sees his ghost watching as they pass through an endless, empty landscape.
