“Will you be my date?”
Dana’s head whips up from her paperwork so fast she’s pretty sure she’s given herself whiplash. She knows she didn’t just hear those words, especially coming from Dr Cassie McKay’s mouth. She knows her mouth is gaping and her synapses are failing to fire, because there’s no way Cassie just asked her that, at the hub, in the middle of a busy day shift.
Or: Cassie asks Dana to be her date to an old friend's wedding

~ New Summary for the fic that got away from me ~
This time when McKay rolled her eyes at her, she swore there was a heat to it that paradoxically made her shiver.
“Oh baby,” she cooed, just on the edge of appropriate, only barely platonic, but the tenderness shone through, making Victoria blush and shudder, “what are we going to do to fix this for you?”
OR, what if I locked a down bad, pleasure-deprived Javadi and a nurturing, flirty McKay in a closet (or a fanfic…) and made them (and you) really work for it.
Fluff, flirtation, vulnerability and (eventual) smut lie ahead.

At the right place, in the right time, the right angel showed up to her in the aftermath. -

“You don’t have to keep booking me through the website. Take my number, and…” Cassie explains, tongue slipping between her teeth as she writes the number down, “call whenever.”
Dana snorts dryly, a matter of instinct. “That’s a little facetious, don’t you think? 'Whenever'?”
“Eh, business is kinda quiet at the minute. If I’m with my kid, I won’t answer, but if I’m not… I’m all yours.”
It’s such a simple assertion. 'I’m all yours', as if Dana matters to this woman; as if she’s anything more than a paycheck.
She knows she isn’t, but it still warms her in a funny way.
