Minato was always a quiet person; he was never too expressive in anything he ever did. Why do all the extra stuff when a simple yes or no would suffice? His behavior even translated to his leadership in Tartarus, where his orders were always short and to the point. So the first time Akihiko pushes him against a wall, their bodies slotting together perfectly, it seems like it won't be too different from before.

There were a lot of things Minato was trying not to think about right now. Like how his eyes lingered on Akihiko as he fought through Tartarus, punching through shadows with one blow. Like how seeing Akihiko surrounded by a crowd of girls fussing over him at school gave him this pit in his stomach and made him want to go yell at them, even though he never would. Like how there always seemed to be this undercurrent between them that neither of them wanted to acknowledge. Like how, Minato thinks, he’s starting to relate a lot to Akihiko’s philosophy of getting stronger at all costs, if it means protecting those you love.

“But… but…” Akira looked down and saw he had lost his paper ring in the grass. He quickly picked it up and in a snap decision, held it out to Goro. “Look, I made a ring! Do you want to put it on?”
Goro looked at it with wide eyes for a moment, then he took the ring from him hesitantly.
“Now we can be married!” said Akira cheerfully. “The teachers said…-”
Goro let the ring fall back to the ground, his eyes glittering as he stared at Akira, almost demonstratively, challenging, before putting his foot on the ring and grinding it on the grass.
For as long as Akira remembers, he's been in love with Makoto's big brother. Sadly, that's all he's ever seen in him - his little sister's best friend. But as the years go by, he finds that Akira simply refuses to give up.

Standing before him, arms folded over his chest in a signature impatient fashion, is a perfect replica of an 18-year-old Goro Akechi, dressed in his ancient skintight bodysuit with his pointy beak-like mask obscuring most of his face (Akira’s definitely gonna have to do something to change that). And as Akira runs his eyes along Goro’s body—from his glare down to where numerous belts decorate his thighs—Akira can’t help but be impressed by his memory. He really feels like he traveled back in time and stumbled upon an actual teenage Goro Akechi.
So this is one of those dreams, huh?
